Full Day Camps in Tampa

Camp #2 ...... June 17th - 21st
Camp #3 ...... July 22nd - 26th

All Tampa Camps are FULL DAY CAMPS from 9:30am - 3:30pm 
Pre-camp extended care is available from 8:30am for $10-15 each day. 
After-care up to 6:00pm $10-25 each day.  Please let us know in advance if extended care is needed.

Camp Tournament:

Campers will play...
One rated tournament game each day
For a 5 round tournament competition!
​Trophies and additional awards will be given out on Fridays!
Campers must have US Chess membership for tournament....
Student memberships are $20, this is good for a whole year of chess tournaments.  

Tournament is in Full-Day Camps ... No tournament for the St Pete Camps

1). Chess Classes Include:  Teachings will be for all skill levels!
​Basic Chess Principles & Strategies, Common Chess Openings, Middle Game Tactics, Mastering Common Checkmates, Learning Other Mating Patterns, Working with Chess Clocks, Chess Notation, Tournament Rules & Strategies, Opening Principles, Middle Game Principles, End Game Principles, and more …

Chess Notation: We will be teaching chess notation 1-2 times each day of chess camp. 
​We highly suggest each camper bring their notation book or buy one from us for $5.00.​​
​2). Fun Chess Group Activities:
Bughouse, 5- minute Blitz Game Competition, Chess Battleship, No Stress Chess, 4-Player Chess, Around the World Chess, Pac-Man Chess, Anti-Chess, 2 Move Chess, King of the Hill, Chess Poses, and more ...

​3). Structured Outdoor Activities Include:
Floor is Lava Confidence Course, Blindfold Robot Game, & Silly String Wars
Plus: Playground Set, Gaga Ball, Basketball, Soccer Fun, and more ...

Notes to Parents:

​Health/Safety Guidelines:  
All coaches are level 2 background checked.  Adult supervision is required at ALL times
​No sharing of food or drinks allowed ........... Some campers will wear masks, but masks are optional

1. Campers need to Bring Lunch and Drinks Each Day
2. Campers do not need to bring chess equipment.
3. Campers need to wear clothes they can play in outside.
4. Campers need to wear athletic shoes each day for safety.
5. On Fridays we have pizza, awards, and water games.  Parents if an extra snack or treat can be donated for more fun for the group..... that would be appreciated!!!!! 
*Some snacks/drinks are provided through out the week, all outdoor time is supervised, if kids bring electronics they will not be using them during camp hours, kids are going to play the old fashion way, see more pictures below....​

11:45 - 12:15 ............... Group Activity- Bughouse, Blitz, Duck Chess, etc. 
12:15 - 1:00 ................. Lunch and Free Chess Play Time
 1:00 - 2:00 ................. Tournament Game
 2:00 - 2:30 ................. Large Group Chess Instructional Teaching
 2:30 - 3:30................... Free Chess Play Time or Fun Group Activity
 3:30 ................................. Pick-Up​
