Game 30/d0: Each player has 30 minutes to play their game

Note: If we do not receive enough students for 2 Beginner Divisions, we will have only one section
Awards: Divisions will have 1st - 5th placement trophies

Additional trophies may be awarded for larger sections
All other players will receive participation medals

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1). K-6th Students ... Parents are responsible for your child!
This tournament will be large, and we cannot ensure safety for young children outside the tournament hall.
Older children may be dropped off if they can be responsible for themselves.
Parents if you are staying BRING CAMP CHAIRS.
2). We will provide food concession stand for players and families
Food Concession for Sale - Opens at 10:00 ...Chips, Cookies, Drinks, Pizza. Pizza will arrive at 11:15
Pizza Deal: 2 Slices and Water Bottle or Capri Sun ... $5.00
Cash is best for speed, but we do take credit cards.
3). All players should wear play clothes and athletic shoes!
After a player finishes their game, they go outside. We need to provide a quite tournament room for the remaining playing students. The church has a large shaded outside area for the students to play............ We want kids to be SAFE!
4). Need to Come Late or Leave Early?
If you know you will be late to the tournament (arriving around 11:30-11:45), but you want your student to participate you can receive a 1st round bye. Your child will not play their 1st game, but will receive 1/2 point for that round, then your child would play the next 3 games. If you know you need to leave early (leaving around 3:00), you can request a 4th round bye. Your child would play 3 games and miss the last game but receive 1/2 point score for that last game.

Alton Academy 4 Chess is an affiliate with the USCF and run official United States Chess Federation rated tournaments. Every player must have a current US Chess membership. For all students under age 19 the membership is $24. The US Chess membership will let you play in any tournament in the country for and is good for 12 months.
